Our tour packages do not include: international airfare to/from Tunisia, travel to tour start points and/or beyond tour end points, non-itinerary activities, medical expenses, personal travel insurance, passport fees, visa fees (if required), additional product taxes (if applicable), additional meals, snacks, alcoholic beverages, personal activities, personal spending, or tips (optional).

Yes. All of our tours are private tours bookable year round on any day of the week to fit your schedule. The only exception is the annual fixed-date special group tour led by Galaxy Tours CEO (Davin Anderson).

No. We welcome parties of all sizes, to include solo travelers. Our business model obligates a single supplement charge for one-person Twin Suns Expedition bookings.

Online bookings must be made at least 7 days in advance of the tour start date. Please contact us directly to confirm options for last-minute bookings less than 7 days in advance.

Djerba and Tozeur airports are closest to the Star Wars locations in southern Tunisia. Djerba-Zarzis Airport (DJE) schedules direct flights year-round to/from numerous European destinations via Lufthansa, Air France, Swiss Air, Tunisair, and several other airlines. Tunisair Express domestic flights between Djerba and Tunis-Carthage Airport (TUN) run multiple times every day of the year; only the morning flight is reliable to arrive on time. Tozeur-Nefta Airport (TOE) services direct international flights only from Paris (Orly) via Transavia a few times each week from October to March. Tunisair Express domestic flights between Tozeur and Tunis are scheduled a few times each week throughout the year; only the Sunday flight is reasonably reliable to not be postponed or canceled. All in all, Djerba is the optimal access airport for Star Wars tourism in Tunisia.

All of the Star Wars film sites in Tunisia are located in the south, spanning the width of the country from remote Saharan landscapes in the southwest to historic hilltop landmarks in the southeast coupled with coastal sites on Djerba island. A minimum of three days is required to fully explore all 12 sites.

There is never a bad time of year for our Twin Suns Expeditions. That said, the heat index in southern/central Tunisia during June, July, August and even September can rise well above 40°C/105°F. As much as possible, we adjust our tour activities during these summer months to incorporate earlier start times, breaks during the afternoon heat, and extended evening hours. Late fall, winter, and early spring provide the most pleasant outdoor temperatures for our tours.

Our tours are fully operational during Ramadan. We encourage our guests to be considerate of the decision to participate in Ramadan fasting by our Tunisian team members and local staff at partner hotels and restaurants. Due to limited tourism services, we do not conduct tours on New Year’s Day (January 1), Tunisian Independence Day (March 20), Eid al-Fitr (end of Ramadan), or Eid al-Adha.

No. Tunisians practice a very tolerant version of Islam. Although the traditional dress for females includes a headscarf, Tunisian society accepts all forms of fashion. Modern dress standards are embraced as a common part of daily life.

Seasonal, climate-appropriate clothing should be worn on the tours. During warmer months, it is best to wear a breathable long-sleeved shirt, pants, head and neck covering, plus sunscreen. During colder months, we recommend a combination of interchangeable shirt/sweater/jacket layers and pants.

Although a rustic lodging option, overnighting at Hotel Sidi Idriss (Lars Homestead interior film site) in Matmata is a must-do experience for Star Wars fans. The hotel provides separate bedrooms with a communal restroom area. Sipping blue milk at breakfast in the subterranean Lars Homestead dining room set is as immersive as it gets.

Yes. The unquestionable climax of each Twin Suns Expedition is the nostalgia-inducing experience to reenact Luke’s “binary sunset” scene at the Lars Homestead exterior film site on Chott el-Djerid. We spend about one hour before sunset on the salt flats set to prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime event in the exact place where it all began.

Yes. Absolutely. Our tours are the perfect fandom excursion for any cosplayer. The more cosplay outfits, the better. Blasters and similar cosplay weapons should be left at home. Although never guaranteed, lightsabers are typically permitted into Tunisia after clearing an added layer of airport scrutiny. Be prepared to show airport officials your Galaxy Tours itinerary to facilitate the process.

Not advisable. It is prohibited to operate drones in Tunisia without official approval. The law applies to residents and travelers alike. If you pack a drone in your luggage, Tunisian authorities will likely confiscate your drone at the airport for the duration of your stay in the country.

Our lodging partner in Nefta is a one-of-a-kind 5-star eco-resort with retro design, a trendy vibe, geothermal-heated outdoor pool, and spacious stand-alone rooms overlooking the fertile date palm oasis below. We share hotel names and other specific lodging details after bookings are confirmed.

We partner with top-notch Tunisian transportation vendors for travel to/from all itinerary locations, to include airport transfers (as required). Travelers ride in comfortable, air-conditioned SUV or microbus vehicles with professional driver(s). Vehicle type depends on the size of the group.

Our 4-Day and 6-Day packages include an action-packed outing on ATV “landspeeders” to each Star Wars film site located in the desert/salt flat areas near Nefta. Adult guests can choose to drive their own ATV or ride with a co-traveler. Youth and children are obligated to ride as ATV passengers. If health restrictions or other considerations restrict ATV travel, alternate transportation will be provided with a slightly adjusted itinerary on the scheduled ATV day.

Yes. All age groups are welcome with some restrictions. Travelers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Some hiking activities might be too strenuous for young children. ATV riders must be at least 8 years old to participate.

Yes, with exceptions. Although most itinerary stops permit direct vehicle drop-off on flat terrain, several locations require movement on uneven/rocky/sandy surfaces. Not suitable for wheelchairs or scooters. Please contact us for case-by-case considerations.

Yes. We offer a 10% small-group discount for bookings with at least five adults. The savings extend to a 15% large-group discount for bookings with ten or more adults. In addition, we offer 25% off for youth (ages 12-17) and 45% off for children (ages 4-11) traveling with at least one adult. All discounts are automatically calculated at check-out.

Online check-out offers travelers the option to either pay in full or submit a 35% deposit to secure a booking. If the down payment option is selected, the full balance for your Twin Suns Expedition is due no later than 7 days prior to tour start date, payable via a secure link (sent separately).

Foreign nationals from roughly 100 countries can enter Tunisia for a limited duration without obtaining a visa. The visa-exempt status depends on the nationality of the visitor and differs between 30 to 120 days.

The following vaccinations are recommended (not required): chickenpox (varicella), COVID-19, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, influenza, measles, meningitis, mumps and rubella (MMR), pneumonia, polio, rabies, shingles, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), and typhoid. Yellow fever vaccination certificate not required. Contracting malaria in Tunisia is low risk.

Yes. Following standard practice within the tourism industry, all travelers are required to sign a separate Twin Suns Expedition agreement/liability waiver to participate in any booked tour.

Inclement weather, strikes, civil disturbances, or other unforeseeable circumstances might restrict access to certain itinerary locations, partially hinder specific tour activities, and/or cause delays. We reserve the right to make any itinerary adjustments to ensure the comfort and safety of all travelers. No discounts or refunds will be offered in such cases.

All amounts paid (minus transaction processing fees) will be refunded for cancellations made at least 15 days prior to tour start date. 50% of amounts paid (minus transaction processing fees) will be refunded for cancellations made between 7 to 15 days prior to tour start date. No refunds will be offered after 7 days prior to tour start date. In the unlikely event of cancellation due to extreme weather, natural disaster, pandemic-related circumstances, or other emergency conditions in Tunisia, refunds on all amounts paid will be offered.
