Musical event: Experience on-location the Lars Homestead sunset on the Chott el-Djerid salt flats, joined by a live musical ensemble playing epic franchise titles, on 25 May 2027, the exact 50th anniversary release date of the original film (25 May 1977).

 

Movie event: Enjoy a traditional troglodyte dinner while viewing the original film in the subterranean courtyard of the Lars Homestead interior film site at Hotel Sidi Idriss in Matmata.

Group size: This group tour can accommodate up to 30 travelers. Tour not recommended for children under age 12. Contact us for exceptions. Solo travelers will be paired in shared rooms (separate beds). No single supplement charge added.

 

Start/end: Tour starts in Djerba, ends in Tunis. Pre-tour/post-tour international or domestic travel not included.

 

Meeting point: Dar Dhiafa (Erriadh, Djerba) at 19:00 on 21 May 2027. Welcome dinner and overnight stay at Dar Dhiafa on 21 May 2027 included in tour package.

 

Arrival/departure: Arrival to Djerba must be before 22 May 2027. Departure from Tunis must be after 26 May 2027.

 

Ground transfer add-on (Tunis to Djerba): If Tunis is your entry point into Tunisia, we offer a private ground transfer option from Tunis to Djerba on 21 May 2027 with pick-up directly at the Tunis airport or your hotel in Tunis. The 7-hour drive includes a 1-hour stop at El Djem for a self-guided tour of the famous El Djem Roman amphitheater. Contact us in advance for pricing and details. If multiple guests request this transfer service, we can arrange a larger vehicle at a shared rate to reduce individual cost.

 

ATVs: Tour includes ATV half-day circuit over dunes, salt flats, and paved roads in the Tozeur region. Each ATV can accommodate two travelers: driver plus one rider. ATV tutorial and safety helmet (with face shield) provided. Drivers required to be at least 16 years old. Riders should be at least 12 years old.

 

Reference material: Tour includes access to our library of proprietary digital reference material via the Galaxy Tours app. This “secret sauce” content—legally protected as intellectual property for Galaxy Tours official use only—matches the hardcopy booklets used at each itinerary location.

 

Languages: Tour offered in English, to include Galaxy Tours reference material.
